Sometimes it is the simple things in life that make me happy, like chocolate chip cookies and a tall glass of cold milk. Are you a cookie dough eater or a cookie eater??? I think I am both! So are my kids. Against the rule of not eating raw eggs, we still enjoy a spoonful of cookie dough every time we make cookies. Then of course we have to lick the bowl too!
You are in for a treat today! Try these delicious Chocolate Striped Butter Cookies. Easy to make and very delicious. Kids love them! They remind me of the Keebler Fudge Striped Cookies. My favorite way to eat those as a child was straight from the freezer. Yum!

G-Free Oatmeal Raspberry BarsDelicious! One word describes this tasty treat. I think this Raspberry Bar heads to the top of my favorites list. Gracie, my oldest daughter and I, tried to convince my other daughters and their friends that they would not like these bars. Unfortunately, our tactics did not work and we eventually had to give in and share. There is only one slice of these delicious bars setting on my beautiful glass cake plate. Now I am left to figure out a place where I can hide it so that I can enjoy it tomorrow.
This Christmas celebration we bring to you a traditional German Christmas Cookie, Lebkuchen Cookies. Actually, it is referred to as a biscuit, but we americans refer to it as a cookie. Three years ago, I showed up at a booksigning in Olympia Washington for my first cookbook. Unbeknownst to me, the store told the customers ahead of time that I was going to do a lecture. So here I am with all my “booksigning” stuff set up including samples and what not, and customers start walking through the doors with their notebooks. They asked me where is the class? I said there is no class, just a booksigning.

I love baked fruit crisps any time of year. They are especially nice when fresh fruit is in season, but you can certainly make them all year round with frozen fruit. You can even use fresh fruit in the summer and create your own filling and either can them or freeze them. Crisps are similar to a pies, with pies we bake fruit with the sugar and spices until the fruit becomes soft and the liquids thicken into a nice thick sauce over the fruit, and of course it’s made with a rich, flaky crust on the bottom and many times on the top too. With a crisp we forget the pie crust, instead making a delicious crisp topping, comprising...
It took me three years to convert Grandma Bette’s recipe to gluten free so that Lexie and I can enjoy it too. The first year and second year it did not get Grandma Bette’s seal of approval. They are called Spritz cookies because they come from the word “spritzen” which means “to squirt”. They are a fragile cookie in nature with a rich buttery taste.

Today I have for you a Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cheesecake with Dark Chocolate Espresso Crust. I have been craving cheesecake and I remember eating chocolate chip cheesecake from way back in my early 20’s, so I thought I would make one for you this week. I baked it with a Dark Chocolate Espresso flavored crust, like a pie crust. I know pie crust is not the traditional “cheesecake crust”, but I needed something and didn’t want to spend $7 on a box of gluten free Oreos that don’t taste that good and make a crust out of them. So I thought outside the box and let me tell you, this is good. No, actually, it is DELICIOUS! Super easy...
